HEy!
so im in a new area! Whoo! that's kinda weird. Its a lot smaller than bergen was. But its pretty cool. THere was a lot of snow here when I first got here. So that was cool to see.  It's been raining and snowing on and off since I've been here, but it looks like its getting pretty sunny out there today.  Yesterday was a pretty cool dinner. We went to a deaf members house who was baptized not too long ago.  He fed  us moose steaks.  So that was a first.  It was really good.  We have to take a bus to go to the church its about 20-30 minutes, so not too bad.  The members here are awesome though. Its way cool.  On thursday they have activity night for the whole ward. Its awesome. We met a ton of members. All were way nice and helpful. The bishop is way cool. I can see why him and greg got along so well. He's way cool. Very goal and visual oriented.  He wants to help in missionary work a ton. The mission had all the wards set goals for how many baptisms they wanted for 2014, skien has the highest.  SO I am way excited to work with them all here.  Bishop T and his wife like the C family a lot.  They showed me some videos of the last time they visited them.  It was cool..  The mmk is awesome.  HE's had a couple kids on missions and he has one that's getting ready to go soon.  We've been working on meeting with the members the few days we have  been here so that we can help them with the bishops goal of referrals.  He's very excited about it. I think it's awesome.  ITs been cool getting to know the members here though.  THey love the missionaries.  LEaving bergen was weird though. I loved that city. I was kinda ready to go though.  THe apartment is way nicer though then it was in bergen.  Just doesn't have any closets... but its still pretty nice.  I actually didn't get to say goodbye to **. SHe worked whenever I was busy with something else and the only time she was free, I had district meeting.  IT was a cool district meeting. It was way cool, towards the end this kid walked into the church that me and elder had talked to the week before on p day.  HE wanted to learn more! So we gave him a tour of the church and a couple pamphlets and stuff. IT was awesome.     My good bye to *** was over text so that was sad. I got to teach *** one last time. That was way cool. HE is a cool guy. And he promised to read every day so that was awesome. It was hard to say good bye to some of the members. One, k**, came by on p day and gave the three missionaries leaving bergen norwegian sweaters. That was so cool. His family is one of the coolest in that ward.  So that was sad. I'll put a picture of it on.  It was funny on moves day, I was told to get on a certain plane, so I did, they thought it went to oslo airport, but it went to sandefjord which was a lot closer than oslo, THey told me then to get on a train and head to porsgrunn.  SO I got on the first train to porsgrunn.  I was supposed to meet my companion on the train but I never saw him.  I arrived in porsgrunn at 230 but the instructions said I was supposed to be there at 4. So I stood there for a little bit and finally decided to call the APs so I called them on a pay phone. "hey this is elder newey, I'm in porsgrunn.""WHat are you doing there?!""well I just got on the first train to porsgrunn and now im here" "oh ok..... thats weird., I need to call some people." and then he hung up. SO I waited some more. ANd then a member showed up in a car and said the sisters here told him to come wait with me.  About 4 another train came in with my companion and all was well again. I just thought it was funny.  If I had waited for that train I would have waited for a couple hours at the airport or train station, so I think It was better.  Ah well. My companion is elder b. HE dies in 12 weeks.... SO I will probably be his last companion.  HEs cool.  HE was companions with elder w at one time and they're good friends.  HEs from riverton utah.  HE plays basketball, and (here you go jacob and reid) He got me to go running once this week.  It was actually pretty nice.  We are way pumped about the area here and the things we get to do.  Its pretty exciting with the ward.  We whitewashed the area though so its been taking a lot of getting used to for both of us.  A lot of things we had to learn.  Its cool though.  Jacobs way too fast. He might be faster than me!!! Just kidding. HE passed me a long time ago.  I can't believe that's reid driving. THere is no way hes old enough yet!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RYLEE!!!!! YOure almost 5!!!!!!!!!! right? hmmmm..... you look a little older than that.... THings are good I love you guys! Keep the prayers coming! We have a lot to do here! :)
love ELder Blake NEwey
